Vibration is induced by the rotation of a precision machined, ring-shaped, tool-steel cylindrical roller being driven by compressed air (or another inert gas) around a malleable iron cylindrical body. The roller rotates 10-times during each revolution around the raceway which means 10,000 vibrations are produced when the roller turns at 1000 RPM. The Speed or Frequency, measured as Vibrations-Per-Minute (VPM), is determined by the revolutions the roller makes (RPM). The VPM is adjustable using an air regulator to adjust inlet PSI or an adjustable speed-control exhaust muffler. The smaller the roller, the higher the VPM at the same PSI air pressure. Higher PSI causes higher VPM. The Centrifugal Force Pounds (lbf) is based on the size/weight of the roller and its RPM. A larger roller or an increase in roller RPM results in an exponential increase of the centrifugal force produced.

Sizing Guide: Roller Vibrators, when used to prompt material flow, are sized based on the weight and characteristics of the stored material held in the sloped portion of the bin, hopper or other vessel. Generally, for consistent, long term results, select a Roller Vibrator that at 80 PSI (can be run @ 30 to 90 PSI) produces 1-lbf for every 10-lbs of stored material.

Common Application: Dry & wet materials in small to large bins; Molding machines; Charging hoppers; Wet & dry screening applications; Concrete & refractory forms; Railcars; Truck vibration.
