AIRMATIC was founded in a basement workshop in Philadelphia in 1944. In those early years, the Company distributed air tools, parts, and accessories from just a few suppliers to the foundry, shipbuilding, and railroad industries. The business employed only two people - our founder and, after World War II, his son. We were small, but we were committed to knowing our products, understanding our customers' applications, and doing what was necessary to help them get the job done.
More than 80 years later, that commitment remains. AIRMATIC is still family owned and operated, now in its fourth generation of family leadership. From our headquarters and 50,000-square-foot distribution and service center in Malvern, Pennsylvania, we serve customers throughout North America and internationally.
What has changed is the scope of what we do. Today, AIRMATIC is an industrial equipment distributor, manufacturer, and service provider specializing in products and services for facilities that handle powders and bulk solids. We distribute equipment and components from leading manufacturers; manufacture and assemble our own private-branded products; and provide field and shop services supported by experienced technical and application specialists.
Our products and services support the receiving/unloading, conveying and transfer, storage, feeding and material flow, processing and control, and packaging and loading of powders and bulk solids. We help customers solve problems involving material flow in bins and silos with air and electric vibrators and other flow aids, conveying, dust control, railcar, truck and dry-bulk-trailer unloading, motors for vibratory equipment, valves and flow controls, bin and silo level measurement, silo cleanout, equipment repair, installation, and fabrication.
That breadth of capability is important because industrial problems rarely fit neatly into a single product category. A customer may need help selecting a replacement component, correcting a material-flow problem, improving an unloading process, repairing equipment, or developing a more complete application solution. Our role is to understand the need, bring the appropriate products, technical knowledge, and service resources together, and remain accountable through completion.
We are proud of how far AIRMATIC has come since 1944, but the principle behind the Company hasn't changed: be knowledgeable, dependable, responsive, and resourceful - and give customers a company they can rely on.
