Overview
The Posi-flate Series 485 Inflatable Seated Butterfly Valve offers less friction, low torque, and extended life. Its innovative design uses air pressure to expand the seat against the disc, ensuring even pressure distribution and a bubble-tight seal with minimal disc impingement, reducing wear and enhancing performance.
This valve requires substantially less torque, allowing for smaller actuators and lower costs. Ideal for dry solids, gases, and slurry applications, it boasts a lifespan of one to three million cycles, even in abrasive conditions. Available in sizes from 2" to 30" and compatible with ANSI and metric flanges, it accommodates a full range of actuators and controls.
Performance features include minimal seat wear, ultra-low torque requirements, double shaft seals, and multiple bearings. Operating within temperatures of -40° to 350°F and pressures up to 100 PSIG, the Series 485 valve is constructed from materials such as cast iron, stainless steel, and various resilient seat options, ensuring durability and optimal performance in demanding applications.
